fascia & soffit replacement when you need it
Rotten, sagging or peeling fascia and soffits aren't just an eyesore they let water and pests into the roof and leave your guttering with nothing solid to fix to.
First Fix Response repairs and replaces fascias, soffits and bargeboards right across Kent and Medway, in every material from low-maintenance uPVC to timber. You deal with the team throughout: local, named roofers, fully insured and trained to work safely at height and we'll tell you honestly whether yours can be repaired or are better replaced.

Local, named and accountable — the same people from the first call to the finished job. Fully insured, work-at-height trained, and covering the ME area and out across Kent.

The boards that run along your roofline take a lot of weather, and they let you know when they're failing:
Peeling or flaking paint on timber fascias
Soft, rotten or crumbling timber you can push a screwdriver into
Sagging fascias, or guttering pulling away because the board behind it has gone
Gaps or holes where birds, wasps or squirrels are getting into the roof
Green algae, staining or damp on the boards or the wall beneath
Flaking, cracked or discoloured older uPVC
Left too long, the rot spreads into the roof timbers behind — so it's far cheaper to sort the roofline than to let water get past it.
Whatever state your roofline is in, we cover it:
Repairs
Replacing damaged sections and making good where the boards are still mostly sound.
Full replacement
Stripping out old, rotten or mismatched fascias and soffits and fitting new throughout.
Bargeboards
Repairing and replacing the boards on gable ends so the whole roofline matches.
Ventilated soffits
Fitting soffits that let the roof space breathe and help prevent condensation.
Capping or full replacement
Capping over sound timber for a low-maintenance finish, or full replacement where the timber has gone; we'll advise which is right for your roof.
We work in every common roofline material and match new work to your property:
uPVC — the low-maintenance standard: no painting, long-lasting, in a range of colours and finishes.
Timber — traditional painted timber where the look of a period property matters.
Not sure what you've got or what suits? We'll assess it and recommend the right material rather than the dearest.
Fascias, soffits and guttering are one connected system along your roofline and when one has failed, the others usually aren't far behind. Replacing them together is tidier, and it means the new guttering fixes to sound, new board. If your guttering needs sorting too, see guttering we can do the whole roofline in one visit. A re-roof is another natural moment to renew the roofline: see pitched roofing.
If your gutters are overflowing because they're full of leaves and debris, that's usually a clearing job — see gutter cleaning. We can also clear them while we're on site for other work.
If your gutters are leaking, sagging, cracked or coming away, that's a repair or replacement — which is what this page is about.
Tell us the symptom when you call and we'll send the right fix, not the wrong one.

It depends how far the rot has gone. Sound boards can be repaired or capped; where the timber has failed, replacement is the better long-term fix. We'll tell you straight which yours need.
Capping covers sound existing timber with a low-maintenance uPVC finish; full replacement strips the old boards out and fits new. Capping is quicker and cheaper but only if the timber underneath is still good.
Yes, bargeboards on gable ends are part of the same job, and we match them to the rest of the roofline.
Usually, yes, it's one connected system, and new guttering fixes best to new board. See guttering.

Yes, see emergency roof repairs; call us and we'll get a roofer to you.
Move anything valuable out from under the leak, put a bucket down, and call us. On an emergency call we, make the roof safe and stop the water getting in, then arrange the full repair.
We aim to attend emergency leaks the same day across the ME area and out across Kent & Medway. We prioritise active leaks and storm damage.
Yes, slipped and missing tiles, lifted felt, damaged flashing and storm-related leaks are everyday work for us.
We'll always come out and make your roof safe, but we won't carry out a full repair at height in a live storm or high wind it isn't safe and it isn't good work. We weatherproof it to stop the damage, then complete the permanent repair as soon as conditions allow.
Both. For a flat roof that keeps failing, see flat roofing sometimes a re-cover is the better fix than another patch.
