Render streaks. Give it a few damp Kent winters especially on a north-facing wall and clean render turns green, grey or black with algae, and the whole house starts to look tired. The problem is you can't just blast it off: modern render is a thin coloured coating, and a pressure washer strips it straight off the wall.
First Fix Response cleans render across Kent & Medway the only way you safely can soft washing: low pressure plus a treatment that kills the algae at the root and leaves the render itself untouched. We're a local team, the same real people behind our drainage and roofing work, and we clean render to bring the colour back without wrecking the finish you paid for.

Modern thin-coat render (K-rend, silicone & acrylic)
The big one and the one most often ruined. Modern coloured renders are a thin coating, not solid through. Pressure-wash them and you strip the colour off and can void the manufacturer's guarantee. These are soft-washed only, every time.
Traditional sand & cement render
Older, more robust render cleaned back to its proper colour, algae and staining treated at the root.
Pebbledash
The classic Kent semi finish. All those nooks trap dirt and algae; soft washing reaches into the texture where a jet-wash just skims the surface.
Painted render & masonry
Painted walls and masonry cleaned gently so the paint stays on the wall, not on the ground.
This is the whole point of the page, so plainly: you cannot pressure-wash modern render. A high-pressure jet strips the coloured coating off the wall, forces water behind it, and on K-rend and silicone renders can void the guarantee outright. People have "cleaned" their render and taken the colour off with it.
Soft washing is the correct method and it's genuinely different work:
Low pressure, not high
The render is never blasted; it's gently rinsed.
A biocide does the work
A treatment that kills the algae, moss and lichen at the root rather than forcing it off the surface. (Biocide just means a treatment that kills the growth — the same principle as the moss treatment on a roof.)
It lasts because the growth is killed rather than knocked off, the render stays clean for years, not months.
Cleaned right, render comes back to colour and stays there. Cleaned wrong, you've damaged the whole wall.

Render is rarely the only thing that's gone green. We can soft-wash the whole exterior in one go render, walls, cladding and the grubby bits around them so the whole house lifts, not just one patch that then shows up everything around it.

Block paving, concrete, tarmac and resin. We lift out ingrained dirt, weeds and moss, then re-sand block paving so it stays locked in place not just blasted and left to wash away.

Slabs, natural stone and paths brought back to their original colour and made safe underfoot, because a mossy patio is a slip waiting to happen

Moss holds water against your tiles and shortens a roof's life. We clear it carefully and treat what's left without the high-pressure blasting that loosens and cracks tiles.

Streaked or algae-covered render cleaned with soft washing, not brute force. What that means is just below.

Commercial Pressure washing for our commercial customers. We can pressure wash roofs and gutters keeping your business looking like new.
Straight talk. Soft washing clears organic staining brilliantly algae, moss, lichen, the green and black growth. What it won't fix: rust and iron bleed, paint splashes, or permanent discolouration soaked into the render, which are staining, not growth. And freshly applied render needs to fully cure before it's cleaned. We'll look at your walls and tell you honestly which of your marks will lift and which won't, before we quote.

No — and you shouldn't. High pressure strips the coloured coating off modern render and can void its guarantee. Render is soft-washed: low pressure plus a treatment that kills the growth without damaging the finish.
No, soft washing is specifically the safe method for K-rend and silicone renders, which is exactly why we never pressure-wash them. The render is gently rinsed, not blasted.
The biocide is applied carefully and we take sensible precautions around planting and pets. We'll talk you through it before we start, and we manage where the treatment goes so it isn't running off where it shouldn't.
Because the growth is killed at the root rather than knocked off, render stays clean for years rather than months. North-facing and shaded walls will always green up sooner than sunny ones.
Green, black and red organic growth lifts well. Rust, iron bleed, paint or permanent discolouration is staining rather than growth and won't fully clear we'll be straight with you about which is which before we start.
It depends on the size of the property, the type of render and the amount of staining. Rather than a misleading headline figure, we quote your actual walls, free and with no obligation.
