A dirty driveway is the first thing anyone sees, and it creeps up on you a bit of green here, a weed in the joints there, until one day the whole thing looks tired and slippery. Driveway cleaning fixes it fast, but only if it's done right for the surface you've actually got.
First Fix Response cleans driveways across Kent & Medway, block paving, concrete, tarmac and resin with the right pressure and the right finish for each one. We're a local team, the same real people behind our drainage and roofing work, and we don't just blast the dirt off and drive away: we clear the weeds and moss, lift the stains, and put block paving back together properly so it doesn't shift once we've gone.

Block paving
The most common driveway in Kent & Medway and the one most often ruined by a careless clean. We wash out the ingrained dirt, moss and weeds, then re-sand the joints with kiln-dried sand. Cleaned and re-locked, not just blasted and left open.
Concrete & imprinted concrete
Plain and pattern-imprinted concrete cleaned back to its original colour, with care taken around the sealed surface of imprinted drives so the finish isn't stripped.
Tarmac
Tarmac needs a gentler touch than people expect too much pressure pulls the surface apart. We clean off the moss and grime without chewing up the tarmac underneath.
Resin
Resin-bound drives clean up beautifully but scratch and lift if handled wrong. We use the correct low-impact method to bring them back without damaging the bond.
Here's what separates a proper job from a cheap one, in plain English. Block paving is held in place by kiln-dried sand packed into the joints between the blocks.
A high-pressure wash blasts that sand out along with the dirt. If whoever cleaned it just packs up and leaves, your blocks are now sitting loose they rock, they shift, weeds get straight back in, and within months the drive looks worse than before.
We finish every block paving clean by brushing fresh kiln-dried sand back into the joints, locking the blocks together again. It's the step the cut-price cleaners skip, and it's the difference between a drive that stays clean and one that falls apart. That's the whole point of paying someone to do it properly.

Beyond the general grime, driveway cleaning is really about the things that spoil it:
Moss, algae and weeds
cleared from the surface and the joints, not just skimmed off the top.
Oil and fuel stains
One of the hardest things to shift and one of the most common. We treat oil stains directly rather than hoping a general wash lifts them; badly ingrained stains don't always come out completely, and we'll tell you honestly what to expect before we start rather than promise a miracle.
Slippery build-up
The green film that makes a driveway dangerous in the wet, gone.

Block paving, concrete, tarmac and resin. We lift out ingrained dirt, weeds and moss, then re-sand block paving so it stays locked in place not just blasted and left to wash away.

Slabs, natural stone and paths brought back to their original colour and made safe underfoot, because a mossy patio is a slip waiting to happen

Moss holds water against your tiles and shortens a roof's life. We clear it carefully and treat what's left without the high-pressure blasting that loosens and cracks tiles.

Streaked or algae-covered render cleaned with soft washing, not brute force. What that means is just below.

It depends on the size of the driveway, the surface, and how much moss, weed or staining there is to shift a small resin drive and a large weed-choked block-paved one are very different jobs. Rather than a misleading headline figure, we give you a clear quote for your actual driveway, free and with no obligation. Send a photo and we'll get you a price.
Yes always, where the joints need it. Re-sanding locks the blocks back in place after cleaning. Skipping it is why some "cleaned" driveways fall apart within months. It's part of the job, not an extra.
We treat oil and fuel stains directly, and most lift well. Deep, old stains that have soaked into porous concrete or block don't always come out completely we'll look at yours and tell you honestly what's achievable before we start.
For most Kent & Medway homes, once a year keeps it in good order. Shaded, damp or north-facing drives green up faster and may want doing more often.
Not when the pressure is matched to the surface. Tarmac and resin need a gentler approach than concrete or block paving using one setting for everything is how drives get damaged. We adjust to the surface every time.
Usually not, as long as we have access to the driveway and an outside tap. We'll sort the details when we book you in.
