If your hot water has failed, or your cylinder is old, leaking or noisy, you don't always need a whole new system — but you do need someone qualified to tell you which. First Fix Response works on hot water cylinders and tanks across Kent & Medway, from immersion heaters and vented tanks to G3-qualified work on pressurised unvented cylinders. Our own engineers diagnose the fault, tell you honestly whether it's a repair or a replacement, and carry out the work to standard — no call-out charge to attend, and clear pricing before we start.

Vented cylinder - the traditional tank fed from a cold tank in the loft. Straightforward to work on.
Unvented cylinder (e.g. Megaflo-type) - pressurised, fed straight from the mains, no loft tank. These must legally be worked on by a G3-qualified engineer - which we are.
Immersion heater - the electric element inside the cylinder; a common and often cheap fix when hot water fails.
Not sure which you've got? Tell us what you can see and we'll work it out with you.
Immersion heater repair and replacement
Cylinder thermostat and control faults
Leaking or failing vented and unvented cylinders
G3-qualified unvented cylinder replacement and installation
Hot water tank replacement and upgrades
No-hot-water diagnosis
If you've no hot water right now and it's urgent, call our emergency plumbing line so we can get to you fast — cylinder work is often diagnosed straight off that call.

An old cylinder isn't automatically a write-off, and a new one isn't always avoidable. We'll tell you which it is rather than default to the more expensive option, a replacement sold when a repair would do is exactly the thing we won't do. Where a cylinder genuinely is at end of life, we'll explain why and talk you through the right specification for your home.

For an unvented (pressurised) cylinder, yes, it's a legal requirement. Our engineers hold G3. Vented tanks and immersion heaters don't require it.
It can be either, or the immersion. We diagnose it on the visit rather than guess — often off an emergency call-out.
Often, yes, it's a common and relatively low-cost fix when the cylinder itself is sound.
No charge to attend. The cost depends on the fault and whether it's a repair or replacement, and we're clear about that before starting.
